Smile…there’s an app for that!
Smartphones are within our reach for most of the day, every day. Has your dentist or dental hygienist pulled out a mobile device to reference a fact for you? Don’t be surprised if your chair side treatment includes some form of mobile technology as more and more doctors and patients are using oral health apps.
The mobile revolution kicked off the catchphrase: there’s an app for that. And when it comes to diagnosing and contacting patients, there certainly are plenty of well-functioning applications that fit the bill. Health tips, instructions, and video tutorials can explain proper techniques for flossing and brushing whenever the need arises. Apps that remind you of appointments and facilitate contacting your dentist are of great help to both patients and dental offices. Some lazy (or very conscientious) brushers appreciate apps that remind them when to brush during the day, even providing timed playlists to ensure a proper duration of brushing time.
Reminiscent of the early days of beauty makeover computer programs, there are even apps that show you the possible results of treatment, however more precise. Perhaps seeing your smile on your face two shades whiter will be more helpful in making a decision that shade strips alone couldn’t do.
